Review time! I want to share more of the books in my library. Starting with the AMISH ones.

If you're looking for a cozy book to read in these wild times, try the Amish books. I'm a country girl at heart. My #1 dream is to live somewhere where DoorDash doesn't go and all I can see is sky and fields. Maybe I'd have a few chickens. Probably not. They attract mice. I'd rather have HORSES.

Anyway, my favorite author in the Amish genre is Wanda E. Brunstetter. She's a cutie pie writer woman who also loves the country. She started writing Amish books after marrying her Mennonite husband and meeting many of his relatives.

My favorite series she's written is the Amish Cooking Club series. Reader, it is so delightful. It's sweet. You watch the charactars go through all kinds of challenges. And there's just something calm about it. You'll feel like you're living the country life yourself as you read about an Amish woman who decides to start a cooking class in her home.

The Amish woman's name is Heidi Troyer. Her recipes are traditional Amish ones but her students are regular townspeople who come from the outside world. You learn about them, what they're going through, their families...

I've read about eight of her books. My favorites are the ones in the Amish Cooking Class series, but she has other great ones, too.

She's got a new book out called The Rise and Fall of Miss Fannie's Biscuits. It's a mystery. Mystery isn't a genre I'm into as I read for brain relaxation, but I'm tempted to try it!

I found this image online and it's kind of hilarious. Makes it look like an old fashioned type of mystery.

I love listening to Wanda's books Audible. You can also get the audiobooks iBooks. The narrator for many of them, Rebecca Gallagher, is fantastic.

If you need a brain break. I highly suggest these books! Wanda is a Christian and her book definitely all have a element of faith (trusting God, prayer, etc). They've encouraged me a lot. But even if you're not a Christian, you can easily enjoy these. You'll feel like you're in Amish country!

You can browse all of her Amish books here: https://wandabrunstetter.com/amish-series/

Or search in Amazon, Audible, local bookstores, and secondhand stores. I'm really looking forward to her Amish Friends Farm to Table Cookbook that comes out this May.

She has other cookbooks out, but I've never tried them. This one looks like a good collection of Amish recipes. I'll update you when I try some! Happy reading! Thanks for reading my review!

I love Amish books too!! Did we just become book besties 👯‍♀️ 👀

But have truthfully only read one: that has to do with an Amish woman and a black woman formung an unlikely friendship during a time of segregation. It’s a hard read about hard topics such as DEEP grief!!! But there is redemption and it’s SOOO beautiful 🕊️

It’s called “The Solace of Water” by Elizabeth Byler Younts 🌊 it’s on Audible or any free library streaming platform and I promise your soul will stir!!

I’m totally going to add these to be TBR list~ signed Mary in Phoenix (an_honestheart)
